Low-growing perennial growing up to 2 feet tall. Often forms clumps of foliage and persists through reseeding. Grows in full sun to part shade and dry to medium soils. Well-drained soils are best for this plant as crown rot can occur when site doesn’t drain. Grows well in nutrient poor soils and tolerates a range of soil conditions.
