Liatris spicata - Marsh Blazing Star
Perennial growing up to 4 feet. Grows in full sun and medium soils. Tolerates drought and clay soil; does not do well in wet, winter soils. Purple flower spikes bloom from July to August and attract butterflies and birds. Establishes slow from seed.
