Tradescantia ohiensis - Ohio Spiderwort
Perennial plant growing up to 4 feet tall. Grows in full sun to part shade and dry to slightly wet soils. Purple flowers attract a variety of bees. A second bloom period can be encouraged in the fall by clipping the foliage back after first bloom period. Plants can establish in shadier spots, but will not produce as many flowers. Blooms from May to August.
